Bio

My work revolves around opticality, the landscape, and material culture, exploring the ways in which our reading of space and object are impacted by color, mark, and light. I make paintings and drawings using various media; see the "links" section for examples.

I'm represented by Morgan Lehman Gallery in New York and Dowling Walsh in Maine; I am the Gallery and Exhibitions Director of the University of New England Art Galleries; and I have a BFA from Parsons and an MFA from the Yale School of Art. I've had residencies at Skowhegan, MacDowell, the American Academy in Rome, and several other places. I have written for Boston Art Review, Art New England, The Chart, and other publications, and I have also worked (just a little bit) as an illustrator.

Teaching studio, art history, and professional practice classes, I've worked as an instructor and visiting critic for undergraduate and graduate students in the visual arts at the Maine College of Art & Design; Bowdoin College; Boston University; etc. I worked in the admissions office at the Yale School of Art, and I have had numerous mentees and private clients over the years. You will be a welcome addition:)
